Danny Green Big Fight 2011
Danny Green Best Fight 2011
Danny Green Born in Perth, Western Australia, Green began as an amateur boxer. Success at the State Amateur level led to him being selected for an Australian Institute of Sport scholarship to prepare for 1998 Commonwealth Games and the 2000 Summer Olympics in Sydney. He’s arguably Australia’s toughest man. Danny Green is a local favorite. He’s also the IBO cruiserweight champion of the world.
Next week, the 38 year-old from Perth will be squaring up against one of the greatest boxers in the history of the sport. It promises to be Green’s toughest fight yet, when he goes into the ring with American Antonio “Magic Man” Tarver, who is a former light heavyweight world champion.

Some believe Green could be canvassed for the first time since his loss to Anthony “The Man” Mundine in 2006.
Taking time out from training, the Aussie champ goes 12 rounds with us. But it’s an interview — he’ll save the real punches for the bout at the Sydney Entertainment Centre next Wednesday. Danny Green should be doing more to promote Australian boxing by fighting higher quality contenders. Furthermore it is my belief that the only way to get the big fights he should be seeking is to move out from his back yard and fight abroad, otherwise to the wider boxing community, Danny Green will just be considered as another fighter in a long line of paper champions.
